Plaintiff Jury
Fantasy baseball questions Why Fantasy Jury? Many leagues and owners don’t require or can’t afford the detailed accuracy of expert trade resolution services such as RotoUmpire, and just would like a quick, general idea of the fairness (or lack thereof) of a deal.

What does this service do for me as a fantasy baseball team owner? Well, the main purpose of this service to is to allow your league to resolve unfair trades or any other disputes that may arise in your league. However, that's not all.

When you get a resolution from an expert or even simply from your league’s trade committee, you’re relying on the opinions of a small group of people. Sometimes you might be debating a trade offer and have no one to turn to. When your case is brought to the Fantasy Jury, hundreds of fantasy sport enthusiasts are looking at and voting on your deal every day.

What about a scenario where you want to just see if a trade you are going to offer another owner will be considered a fair deal or not? What about needing some help on determining if you should drop someone from your roster in order to pick up an available free agent?

Completely free of charge, once every seven days, you can submit this kind of information to the jury and have the entire fantasy baseball community vote on it. This is called "submitting a case to the jury."

If you'd like to submit more than one case to the jury every seven days, you can purchase an unlimited number of cases for the entire season for just $24.99. In a 10-team league, this is only $2.50 per team, which, even in this economy, any league can afford. UPDATE: This fee is not being charged for the 2010 fantasy baseball season. You can submit unlimited trades completely free of charge

Fantasy baseball answersAfter your case is submitted to the jury, the jury will then vote on it. You can specify a certain number of votes that will end the voting or a specific time period.

After the voting has concluded, you will receive an e-mail letting you know the results. The result will be either innocent or guilty. When you submit a case to the jury, you can also specify a threshold percentage for the final result to be either innocent or guilty. For example, if you specify that 50% of all votes must be innocent, then the result of your case will be innocent only if 50% or more of the votes received are innocent, otherwise, the result will be a guilty verdict. For unfair trades, if the result is innocent, that means that the jury recommends that the trade be allowed to stand. If the result is guilty, that means that the jury recommends that the trade be overturned.

Fantasy baseball votesWhy would you want to be a member of the jury? Well, mostly because it's fun!. Oh, I guess you can win some prizes, too, but you can contribute to the greater fantasy baseball community by helping out other leagues and owners in resolving their league disputes.

If you've played fantasy baseball for more than ten minutes, you know that with ten or a dozen owners in a league, there are always differing opinions. Some of the issues that you differ on are minor, but some are pretty major. We've seen a single lopsided trade completely put a league out of exixstence.

Plus, if you vote on enough deals from other leagues, you can accumulate credits (we call them jury bucks) that can be used to submit your own cases to the jury more often for free. Read all about how jury bucks work and the rest of our official rules here.

Fantasy baseball vote smartThe more you vote, the more jury bucks you accumulate. While you do get jury bucks for just voting, you get a lot more for voting correctly. So, don't just go willy-nilly and vote for the sake of voting. Instead, take a few minutes to look at the details of the case and then submit your vote.
